MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 28, 1990 <br />PAGE 4 <br />DISCUSSION OF CITY SHARING IN COST OF SEWER REPAIRS - CONTINUED <br />. FROM LAST MEETING <br />Baldwin commented on Gedde's letter of November 16; 1990 (a copy <br />of which is on file in the City office) regarding any further <br />liability on the part of the City sharing in the cost of repair <br />of private sewer line repairs. He explained that other Cities <br />maintain the main only, however Council concurred they were <br />inclined to share in this cost up to a limited amount, such <br />amount yet to be determined. The City Attorney was directed to <br />draft an ordinance which would allow the City to participate in <br />a portion of the cost without incurring any further liability. <br />NO ACTION TAKEN ON PROPOSAL FROM METRO RELATIONS, INC. <br />Wiessner explained that Metro Relations, Inc, is proposing to <br />monitor the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission and is asking <br />that Falcon Heights consider participation. Wiessner <br />recommended not taking action at this time, but that Council <br />consider looking into Suburban Rate Association. Council agreed <br />and will be presented further information regarding the <br />Association at a future meeting. <br />UPDATE ON FALCON HEIGHTS-ROSEVILLE COOPERATION STUDY <br />Wiessner explained that the City has been notified that the <br />grant application for funds for the joint study has been denied <br />which will require a change in plans if the Cities wish to <br />continue. Some possible options given were were to look for <br />other funding, use of City reserve funds, or downsizing the <br />project. A joint workshop will be held at Roseville City Hall <br />on January 7, 199 to discuss the matter. Wiessner suggested <br />the Falcon Heights City Council hold,a workshop prior to the <br />joint meeting to discuss options. <br />SPECIAL TEMPORARY PERMIT APPROVED FOR J'S LIQUORS, 1557 W. <br />~ LARPENTEUR, TO ALLOW A ROOFTOP DISPLAY ON BULLSEYE BUILDING <br />Ciernia moved that a request from J's Liquors to allow a rooftop <br />display during the store grand opening on December 6th through <br />8th be approved.
