c. Parking Spaces. <br />• 1. Each parking space shall not be less than nine (9) feet wide and twent <br />(20) feet in length exclusive of an adequately designed system of access y <br />drives. Smaller spaces for parking to be used only by compact cars may <br />be permitted if approved by the City Council. <br />2. Parking lots that separate vehicles based on size may be designed with <br />parking spaces less than or greater than nine (9) feet wide and twenty (20) <br />feet in length depending upon the size of the vehicle as long as adequate <br />space is provided for easy and safe ingress and egress for the vehicle. <br />3. Proposed reductions in or additions to the parking space size must be <br />submitted in a dimensioned site plan with the sizes of the vehicles to use <br />parking spaces indicated to the zoning administrator for review and <br />approval. <br />4. Signs specifying the vehicle size to use the parking space may be <br />required by the zoning administrator. <br />5. Parking spaces for the handicapped shall not be less than twelve <br />(12) feet wide and twenty (20) feet in length. <br />• d. Use of Parking Facilities. Off-street parking facilities accessory to residential <br />use shall be utilized solely for the parking of passenger automobiles and/or one <br />(1) truck not to exceed 7,000 pounds gross capacity for each dwelling unit. Under <br />no circumstances shall required parking facilities accessory to residential <br />structures be used for the storage of commercial vehicles or for the parking of <br />automobiles belonging to the employees, owners, tenants or customers of nearby <br />business or manufacturing establishments. <br />e. Joint Parking Facilities. Off-street parking facilities for a combination of <br />mixed buildings, structures or uses may be provided collectively in any "district" <br />(except residential districts) in which separate parking facilities for each separate <br />building, structure or use would be required, provided that the total number of <br />spaces provided shall equal the sum of the separate requirements of each use <br />during any peak hour parking period and a copy of the private joint parking <br />agreement is approved by the zoning administrator and placed on file with the <br />City along with a certificate of occupancy for all land area involved. <br />f. Control of Off-Street Facilities. When required, accessory off-street parking <br />facilities are provided elsewhere than on the lot in which the principal use served <br />is located shall be in the same ownership or control, either by deed or long-term <br />12 <br />
