Approval of minutes December 12, 2005 Meeting <br />Motion made by Dolan and seconded by Evans. <br />Evans inquired about the Open Gym numbers. Kuhens reported that in the <br />past couple of weeks there has been few to none participants. <br />6. Staff Report: <br />Winter Program Update: <br />Anderson reported that another session of Create with Clay has started. Both <br />classes will be going this session. Yoga classes will begin soon. Three of the <br />four classes will be taking place. They will be held here at City Hall in the <br />Council Chambers. Anderson also gave an update on the Dead of Winter <br />Event. Letters to local businesses were sent out in regards to sponsoring our <br />city events such as the Dead of Winter. So far $600 has been donated. Local <br />sponsors at this time include, Warners SteNians, Source Comics, Dinos, .k~hn <br />A Knutson & Co. PPLP, James Kerkik D.D. S, and Edward Jones. Activities at <br />the Dead of Winter will be similar to previous years, games, crafts, hay rides, a <br />bonfire, hockey shoot and a treasure hunt. Anderson also noted the need for <br />volunteers. An email was sent out to recruit volunteers from city staff, council • <br />members, and commission members. If anyone is interested they are to <br />contact Anderson. Coming up, Anderson reported she will continue working on <br />the Summer Activity Brochure set to go out to homes by the end of February. <br />Rinks: <br />Anderson reported that due to the warm weather we have had to close some <br />of them. This is decided day to day based on temperatures and ice conditions. <br />The Park and Recreation Weather line is being updated daily for rink closures. <br />Green asked if there had been any concerns regarding the lack of boards at <br />Grove Park. Anderson reported she was not aware of any. Ozasky reported he <br />hasn't heard any discretion about the lack of boards there. <br />7. Commission Roles <br />Anderson distributed a rough draft of the Park Commission Roles and Duties <br />and gave a brief overview of its contents and what changes were made from <br />the original. Anderson recommended members read through and discuss any <br />additions or changes needing to be made. On the first page changes were as <br />follows: <br />Under "Purpose" specify the facility being stated. The word "park" <br />would be added to specify that they are talking about park facilities <br />as apposed to any city facility. <br />Under the "Terms, Vacancies, and Oaths, the second paragraph • <br />regarding appointing successors be taken out. <br />
