January 29. 1969
To Mayor Warkentien and
Village Council Xiembsrs
Res Request frosu Mr. Robert Blomberg far a variance
on the else of a sign to be erected at 183 N.
Ha~line
~'he I'lannirsg Casmaiss~.an met at the Village Ha11. on 3'ueadag. January 28,
1969 at ~:30 psi, to ccrosider the request f ar a variance from i~ar.
~.omberg. Mr. Blcenbsrg teas not present.
~'• Blomberg proposes a six foot high sign across the entire ~ foot
width of his building and :long a 16 foot pra~eotian on the north
side of the building. The letters on tha sign are 3 feet high. fine
P7.anning Ccsffirrissian felt that the Six fast plastic 'tfaaking for the
letters acted as a facing to the building and thst only the space
devoted to the letters xould constitute the "sign" area. The area
far the letters themselves equalled 1$0 square feet. As the sign
is attractively designed, the Planning Cc~msission reaoasmends that
the Village Council. grant ASr. Blomberg hie request for a variance
provided that he holds to the dimensions as listed on his plan.
Sineerely yours,
George Plant, Chairman
Falcon Heights Planning Cosamission
