PROPOSED SEWER JETTER RATES
1. RENTAL FEE FOR SEWER JETTER
a. Cost for the machine will be based upon the actual use
of the machine not how long the machine is on the job
because the machine gets no wear and tear being away
from city hall, and there is no need to have the
machine at city hall. A meter on the machine allows
the city to do this.
b. The proposed rental cost is calculated from the
cost /hour of owning the machine using a ten year
depreciation schedule. This should cover any
additional maintenance that might be associated with
the use of the machine in Lauderdale.
The ten year depreciation schedule results in a
$15 /hour cost for Falcon Heights to have this machine
for 180 hours of sewer jetter work each year for over
ten years.
This comes to $15 /hour rent for the machine time.
Cost of gasoline and an oil change comes to $3.00 /hour
during the machine use.
The actual operation time will be taken from the meter
on the sewer jetter.
TOTAL: $18 /hour for actual operation time
2. LABOR
a. The hourly rate for a temporary employee of Falcon
Heights to accompany the machine because he is
knowledgeable about the equipment. He has done this in
Falcon Heights over the past two years. He will be
assigned to the job, not only to running the machine
This employee will be paid for the time he is on the
project regardless of whether or not the machine is in
operation.
Cost is $7.32 /hour including social security.
10/13/92
