14. When will the streets in the Northome area be reconstructed?
We are currently preparing the five -year capital improvement plan, and it does not appear
that Northome streets will be included in this plan.
15. Who will decide which alleys will be reconstructed?
The Falcon Heights City Council will decide which alleys will be reconstructed based on
our recommendation in the feasibility report and testimony at a public improvement
hearing.
16. How would City participation be increased on the project?
City Council will likely review the Assessment Manual and the feasibility report and
decide whether or not the current policy of 100% assessment should be changed.
17. What would the repayment period be for alley reconstruction assessment?
If the assessment was approximately $1,000, we would propose a 3 to 5 year repayment
period. The City of Falcon Heights has a senior citizen deferral system set up in their
Assessment Manual. Based on age and income guidelines, seniors may apply for a
deferral of their assessment.
18. Should a resident reconstruct his driveway now or wait until the alleys are reconstructed?
We believe that you should wait until the City considers the alley reconstruction in a few
months before reconstructing your driveway.
With no further questions, the meeting was adjourned.
WKW:tp
03 1-0404 jun
