Family Violence Network 675
Total $8,941
5 The Roseville Senior Program is requesting $1,444
based upon the city's share of the program's budget
shortfall of $16,000. The city's share is based upon the
city's population age 60 and over, which is 9% of the
senior population in district 623, the service area of the
program. This is the first request made by the senior
group after an initial discussion earlier in the year.
(Attachment 3)
6 The Family Violence Network submitted a request for
$5,000 to each suburban Ramsey county city to
compensate for a $22,500 budget grant shortfall from
Ramsey County. (Attachment 4) The interim director of
the Family Violence Network said that the request was
made in hopes of getting some of the funding. City staff
spoke with Shirley Pierce of Ramsey County to
determine the reason for the grant shortfall. She
indicated it was a re- distribution of the advocacy funds
between the city and suburban advocacy groups. This
may not occur each year.
The money is for direct advocacy or intervention to help
the victim at the time of a domestic call as well as
follow -up help finding a safe house and going through
criminal or civil court action. The Roseville police have
been using the Family Violence Network since August,
1992.
