SEP 02 '93 04 :03PM PETERSEN TEWS SQUI P.3/3 <br /> WEE SECYVLERS: John Hustad presented materials he obtained from <br /> 111 the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources which were developed <br /> to involve children in waste reduction and recycling. The program <br /> includes an entire curriculum directed at children aged 3 -5, with <br /> educational materials, stories, craft projects, and visual aids. <br /> John will have the materials available for inspection at the open <br /> house, and the Commission will consider asking the City to purchase <br /> a number of the packages for distribution to schools and day care <br /> providers in the City. <br /> SUPEEFUAD LIAHILITa: Marty McCleery led a general discussion of <br /> the City's exposure to Superfund liability with regard to landfills <br /> to which residents' solid waste has been hauled. The City may <br /> commence an investigation of its potential liability now, although <br /> it has not been notified of any claims against it. <br /> LETTER: Due to the demands of planning the open house, <br /> discussion of the next Solid Waste Commission newsletter was <br /> deferred on the motion of John Hustad, seconded by Terry Iverson. <br /> On the motion of John Brynildson, seconded by John Hustad, the <br /> meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> 44 <br /> Susan K.
