Ride Along Program Guidelines: <br /> 1. Ride Along participants are considered observers only. <br /> 2. Ride along participants must be in good health and should not be suffering a head cold the day <br /> of their Ride Along shift. Pregnant females are not allowed to participate in observation <br /> shifts. <br /> 3. Ride along shifts are available on a scheduled basis. Participants must sign up for shifts <br /> which are at least eight hours, but no longer than 12 hours. One ride along is scheduled per <br /> day. <br /> 4. During the ride along shift, participants are under the direct supervision of the fire <br /> department member. <br /> 5. Ride along members must dress appropriately during the scheduled ride along shift. Dark <br /> blue or black slacks and a light gray or white shirt are preferred with dark colored shoes. <br /> EMS uniforms or jackets from your service are strongly encouraged. Hats, boots and gloves <br /> are necessary during cold weather months. Absolutely no jeans, shorts, stretch <br /> pants, hospital scrubs, ect. maybe worn. The Falcon Heights Fire Department <br /> Member has the authority to send home anyone who is inappropriately <br /> dressed. <br /> 6. Ride along participants are expected to act professionally. All patient information must be <br /> kept completely confidential. Lee.— FOr,e. <br /> 7. Participants are responsible for their own meals during the ride along shift. Kitchen <br /> facilities (including refrigerator, microwave and stove) are available. <br /> 8. If you do not have any calls on your shift, you will be able to schedule another time. <br /> 9. You may want to bring reading materials, to have on hand during down times. <br /> 10. Ride along participants must be at least 16 years old and have a current MN First Responder <br /> and CPR card(a copy of the cards, front and back must accompany the application). <br /> 11. A release of liability form (Located on the back of the application form) must be signed and <br /> returned prior to the Ride Along shift. <br /> 12. Ride Along Participants should complete and return the program evaluation form which they <br /> receive at the completion of their Ride Along shift. <br /> 13. Members of the Falcon Heights Fire Explorer Post #202 shall abide by, but not be limited <br /> to the above Guidelines. <br />
