MINUTES C:[TY CODNCLL MARCI~ 23, 2005 'the Administrator pointed out the parking bay that is proposed on the north side of County Road Q-2 adjacent to the school's ballfield area. I-Ie noted that the School District has agreed to pay split of the cost of that parking bay area with the City. The Administrator noted that the City utilizes the ballfields as part of its recreation program, therefore, warranting the shared cost arrangement. It was noted that the Code Enforceu~ent Officer has identified junk vehicles in the parking lots of some of the multi-family housing along County Road B-2. 'I he Officer will be sending notices for removal of Chase vehicles. This will free up needed space in parking lots that will be especially important during the reconstruction process. The Administrator indicated that the City has received MSA approval for 100% of the costs of the County Road B-2 improvement. Therefore, the revenue gained from the assessments to property owners will be placed in the City's lnfrash uuture Fund. The Administrator noted that the MSA Fi~mds will be advanced to the City in increments of approximately $360,000 annually. He reported that the property at 2968 REDEVEI,- Rice Street is currently for sale, and also pointed out several illegal OPMENT uses of that site. The Administrator presented pictures of this area noting the current uses of each property as well as illegal uses that exist under the City's Zoning Codes. The Administrator felt the area had redevelopment potential for retail/office use in the front and office/showroom iu the back. Lte asked if the Council wanted City staff to determine the availability of these sites orjust keep an eye on the situation. Given the potential cost of these properties, it was the consensus of the Council that City staff should I:eep an eye on the properties. COUNCIL Che City Administrator presented information relative to new public CHAMBER seating for the Council Chambers. It was noted that this expense is UPGRAllES included in the CATV budget. It was the consensus of the Council that staff should put some {onnal recommendations together for their review. Council reviewed some sample diagrams for placing the City's logo on the wall behind the Council table. City staff and Council Member Montour will work with the design company on putting together a formal proposal. 5
