MINUTES <br />C:[TY CODNCLL <br />MARCI~ 23, 2005 <br />'the Administrator pointed out the parking bay that is proposed on the <br />north side of County Road Q-2 adjacent to the school's ballfield area. I-Ie <br />noted that the School District has agreed to pay split of the cost of that <br />parking bay area with the City. The Administrator noted that the City <br />utilizes the ballfields as part of its recreation program, therefore, <br />warranting the shared cost arrangement. <br />It was noted that the Code Enforceu~ent Officer has identified junk <br />vehicles in the parking lots of some of the multi-family housing along <br />County Road B-2. 'I he Officer will be sending notices for removal of <br />Chase vehicles. This will free up needed space in parking lots that will be <br />especially important during the reconstruction process. <br />The Administrator indicated that the City has received MSA approval for <br />100% of the costs of the County Road B-2 improvement. Therefore, the <br />revenue gained from the assessments to property owners will be placed in <br />the City's lnfrash uuture Fund. The Administrator noted that the MSA <br />Fi~mds will be advanced to the City in increments of approximately <br />$360,000 annually. <br />ADD1T10NAL, i'he City Administrator reviewed the properties at addressed ranging <br />R[CG from 294E to 29C>8 Rice Street noting the potential of these properties <br />STRL;CT a(a future redevelopment site. He reported that the property at 2968 <br />REDEVEI,- Rice Street is currently for sale, and also pointed out several illegal <br />OPMENT uses of that site. The Administrator presented pictures of this area noting <br />the current uses of each property as well as illegal uses that exist under the <br />City's Zoning Codes. The Administrator felt the area had redevelopment <br />potential for retail/office use in the front and office/showroom iu the back. <br />Lte asked if the Council wanted City staff to determine the availability of <br />these sites orjust keep an eye on the situation. <br />Given the potential cost of these properties, it was the consensus of the <br />Council that City staff should I:eep an eye on the properties. <br />COUNCIL Che City Administrator presented information relative to new public <br />CHAMBER seating for the Council Chambers. It was noted that this expense is <br />UPGRAllES included in the CATV budget. It was the consensus of the Council that <br />staff should put some {onnal recommendations together for their review. <br />Council reviewed some sample diagrams for placing the City's logo on the <br />wall behind the Council table. City staff and Council Member Montour <br />will work with the design company on putting together a formal proposal. <br />5 <br />
