MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 13, 2005 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (4) LaValle, Keis, Allan, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PUBLIC The City Administrator reported that the City had 17 applicants for the <br />WORKS position of Public Works Superintendent. Six of the applicants were <br />SUPERIN- interviewed. The City Administrator reported that he is very pleased <br />TENDENT to recommend Bill Dircks be hired as the City's Public Works <br />Superintendent. The City Administrator presented a draft employment <br />agreement between the City and Dircks. He recommended approval of <br />that agreement subject to review and comment by the City Attorney. <br />Blesener indicated his support of the recommendation and noted thaC <br />Dircks is a college graduate as well as a great deal of hands-on experience <br />in Public Works. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-4-84 -APPROVING THE EMPLOYMENT <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN BILL DIRCKS AND THE CITY FOR THE <br />POSITION OF PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT AS <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR, SUBJECT TO <br />ANY COMMENTS BY THE CITY ATTORNEY, AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE <br />CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Blesener, LaValle, Allan, Keis. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />STREET The City Administrator reviewed the street sign report dated Apri15, <br />SIGNS 2005 recommending the replacement of the City's street signs with 9 inch <br />high signs that are more easily read. He noted that two bids were received <br />for this signage, with the low bid submitted by M & R Signs in the amount <br />of $14,476.08. The Administrator further reported that the plan would be <br />to have the streeC signs installed in late fall or early winter utilizing the <br />Institution/Community Work Crew Program. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-4-85 -AWARDING THE LOW BID OF M & <br />R SIGNS IN THE AMOUNT OF $14,476.08 FOR THE PURCHASE <br />6 <br />
