MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 8, 2005 <br />that were received, the best value for the City is the purchase of the Pierce <br />truck with the price paid in full upon approval of the contract. The cost of <br />the Pierce truck is $411,031. The Administrator noted that the Fire <br />Department has agreed to contribute $100,000 toward the cost of the <br />truck. <br />The Administrator noted that the City has budgeted for this purchase in <br />2006, therefore, the 2005 budget would need to be amended given the <br />proposal would be to pay for the truck upon approval of the contract. <br />Blesener stated that he wanted to commend the Fire Department for their <br />work on this project. He noted that following good procurement <br />procedures resulted in the Fire Department getting a superior truck at a <br />very competitive price. Blesener anticipated at least a $20,000 savings <br />was realized through the development of the two bidding packages. <br />Blesener also pointed out thaC the projected life of a fire truck is 20 years, <br />and noted that this is a 24 year turnover in vehicles. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO.2005-6-725 -AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE <br />OF THE PIERCE TRUCK WITH FULL PREPAYMENT OF $417,037 <br />AS RECOMMENDED BY THE FIRE TRUCK COMMITTEE, <br />AMENDING THE 2005 BUDGET TO ACCOMMODATE THIS <br />PURCHASE, AND ACCEPTING AND THANKING THE LITTLE <br />CANADA FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR THEIR $700,000 DONATION <br />TOWARD THIS PURCHASE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Allan, Keis, Montour, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />2883 CONDIT The City Administrator reviewed his report dated June 3, 2005 relative <br />STREET - to the Right of Entry Agreement for 2883 Condit Street which will allow <br />RIGHT OT the construction of Nadeau Road to access the Hidden Acres <br />ENTRY development. The Administrator reported that the City Attorney has made <br />some modifications to the agreement which have been approved by Mr. <br />Miller's attorney. The Administrator also noted that the purchase <br />agreement between the City and the Millers, owners of 2883 Condit <br />Street, outlines the right-of-way compensation. The Millers have been <br />trying to obtain a partial release of mortgage on the property needed for <br />the right-of-way. Once that has been done, the purchase will be finalized. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />5 <br />
