MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 22, 2005
LaValle made a motion to approve the CUP to allow the 10-unit metal
garage/storage building as proposed by Terrace Heights and as
recommended by the Planning commission.
Blesener noted that the ordinance amendment just adopted by the Council
did not provide for material standards other than what is allowed in the B-
3Zoning District. Therefore, a variance would still be necessary to allow
a metal building. The City Attorney agreed as did the City Planner. The
Planner noted that if the consensus of the Council is to allow for metal
construction in non-conforming mobile home parks, a clause can be added
to the Zoning Code Amendment Co allow that type of building. Without
that language, a variance would be necessary.
Blesener pointed out that the only hardship is economic in nature, thereby
not warranting a variance.
The consensus of the Council was to reconsider the motion adopting the
Zoning Code Amendment so that the appropriate language can be included
to allow for metal buildings in non-conforming mobile home parks.
Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0.2005-6-736 -RECONSIDERING RESOLUTION
NO. 2005-6-I35 RELATING TO THE ADOPTION OF ZONING
CODE AMENDMENT FOR CHAPTER 903 RELATED TO NON-
CONFORMING MOBILE HOME PARKS
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (4) Allan, LaValle, Montour, Keis.
Nays (1) Blesener.
