MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 13, 2005
The City Administrator indicated Chat the City needs a map showing the
wireless communications towers that exist in Little Canada for all carriers,
and the data used by the RF engineers to determine that the 3250 Spruce
Street site is the only option and co-location will not work. The
Administrator indicated Chat the City will then have an independent third
party review this data. The Administrator indicated that the City also
needs documentation that relocating the whip antenna on the Donovan
tower is not a feasible option.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2005-7-I50 -CONTINUING THE PUBLIC
HEARING ON THE APPLICATION FOR CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT TO ALLOW THE CONSTRUCTIONAND OPERATION OF
A MONOPOLE WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS TOWER AND
EQUIPMENT SHELTER AT 3250 SPRUCE STREET AS
REQUESTED BY CINGULAR WIRELESS UNTIL THE JULY 27,
2005 CITY COUNCIL MEETING DUE TO THE NEED FOR
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO BE SUBMITTED BY THE
APPLICANT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution adopted.
REQUEST Cliff Aichinger, Ramsey Washington Metro Watershed District,
FOR appeared before the Council requesting that the City waive the park
WAIVER charge on their building. Aichinger submitted a letter dated July 13,
OF PARK 2005 outlining a number of reasons why the Watershed feels the
CHARGE park charge should be waived, which he indicated are basically because of
all the Watershed has done for the City's park system and the City in
general.
Blesener suggested that the projects the Watershed has undertaken in
Little Canada are part of its mission and similar to projects that they do in
all the cities the Watershed serves.
Aichinger felt that the Watershed did more improvements in Gervais Mill
Park than iC would ordinarily do, pointing out the extra features it added to
the park in the form of bridges and trails. Blesener pointed out that the
additional improvements required of the Watershed were in exchange for
Che City providing the Gervais Mill Park land so that the Watershed could
make water quality improvements.
9
