MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 24, 2005 <br />thanked Betty Strohbeen, Gambling Manager for Lake Owasso, for her <br />assistance and direction to the Historical Society in getting its gambling <br />operation started. <br />Donovan noted that the Little Canada Historical Society has stayed the <br />course and accomplished its goal of creating a history center for all <br />citizens of Little Canada. <br />KaChy Hanson, Secretary for the Little Canada Historical Society, <br />presented the City with a check in the amount of $1,780.04 which <br />represented the Society's final payment on the City's loan. The total <br />principle and interest paid by the Historical Society is $243,295.00. <br />Mayor Blesener acknowledged and accepted the final payment from the <br />Historical Society and Chanked them for their tremendous effort in <br />repaying the loan. He added that the Little Canada History Center is a <br />great addition Co the City. Blesener indicated that what is missing from <br />the History Center is a plaque in honor of the Historical Society's efforts. <br />He recommended Chat a committee be established of representatives of the <br />CiCy Council, City Staff, and Historical Society to work on a plaque design <br />as well as to plan for a ceremony in recognition of this great effort. <br />Hanson indicated that residents should be aware Chat the building is owned <br />by the City even though the Historical Society paid for the cost of the <br />addition. <br />Blesener again commended the Historical Society for their outstanding <br />effort in repaying Che loan. <br />CUP FOR Mayor Blesener opened the public hearing to consider a <br />OVERSIZED Conditional Use Permit to allow the consCruction of an attached <br />GARAGE - garage over 1,000 square feet in size (1,224 square feet) at 785 <br />785 ALLEN Allen Avenue as requested by Amy Inman. It was noted that the <br />AVENUE - City Planner and the Planning Commission have recommended <br />AMY INMAN approval of the CUP with the condition that there is no business use of the <br /> garage space. <br />Amy Inman, 785 Allen Avenue, requested the oversized garage for the <br />storage of vehicles, recreational equipmenC, and tools. She indicated that <br />there would be no business use of the garage. <br />There was no one from the general public present wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />
