MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 14, 2005 <br />2006 The City Administrator noted that the Council just reviewed the proposed <br />PRELIMINARY 2006 Preliminary Budget at a Council workshop meeting. As discussed at <br />BUDGET that workshop, the Administrator indicated that the impacC of allocating an <br />additional $15,000 toward fire fighters relief benefits would increase the <br />gross levy amount by ahnost 1 °/o. <br />Blesener suggested that if the Council decides to allocate additional funds <br />toward fire relief benefits, those funds should come from cuts made to the <br />budget. <br />It was also noted that the amount adopted as the preliminary levy cannot <br />be increased once adopted. However, the Council would be able to <br />decrease the gross levy amount as the result of upcoming budget <br />workshops. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO.2005-9-210 -ADOPTING THE 2006 <br />PRELIMINARY BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,211,188 <br />REPRESENTING A 3.74% INCREASE IN THE GROSS LEVY AND A <br />5.95% INCREASE IN THE NET LEVY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-9-211 -ADOPTING THE 2006 CERTIFIED <br />DEBT LEVY AT $0 AS RECOMMENDED BY CITY STAFF <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0).
