MINUTES CITY COUNCIL SEPTEMBER 14, 2005 The City Administrator pointed out that if the Council is willing, the City could assist in redevelopmenC of the area. Matthews indicated that he was very interested in an expanded redevelopment project, and was open to suggestions. LaValle suggested this was a redevelopment opportunity, and if Matthews is interested, perhaps the City should provide some assistance. Blesener suggested that the concept plan be tabled at Chis time and the City look at the possibility of expanding the project. The City Administrator suggested that Matthews, the City Planner, and himself get together on Monday, September 19°i to discuss the possibilities. Blesener noted that the City looked at this specific area a couple of months ago with regard to redevelopment. Blesener noted that the concept proposed by Matthews cleans up a lot of area; however, it may be the right time to look aC the larger area. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2005-9-200 -TABLING ACTION ON THE JOHN MATTHEWS TOWN OFFICE CONCEPT REVIEW PENDING ADDITIONAL REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION FROM CITY STAFF The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. VACATION Blesener opened the Public Hearing to review the proposed vacation of OF PARK Park Street lying between Demont Street and County Road B-2 EasC. STREET FROM DEMONT The City Administrator reviewed the City Engineer's report dated TO COUNTY September 9, 2005 relative Co Che vacation. The Administrator noted ROAD B-2 EAST that the School District would like Park Street as abuts their property vacated Co allow Chem to expand their ballfield area. The School DistricC granted the City additional easements for sidewalks as part of the County Road B-2 improvement project, and raised the issue of the vacation of Park Street at that time. The Administrator noted that Terrace Heights Mobile Home Park has a private road located on the Park Street easement. This road appears to extend approximately 5 feet east of the right-of-way centerline. Therefore, vacation of the entire width would likely present a problem for the mobile home park.
