MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 14, 2005
determined, and felt that given the manhole locations, the streeC may be
about 1 'h feet east of Che centerline rather than 5 feet.
Graczyk reported that the School District fenced their ballfields in the
mid-1970's and since that time the mobile home park has been
maintaining the area. At times, the area has been an eyesore resulting
from the storage of vehicles, eCC. Graczyk stated that the mobile home
park has asked for the help of the City's code enforcement officers to
clean this area up. However, it has been a difficult area to police for the
mobile home park since they do not own the property.
Blesener asked if the City is responsible for Che upkeep of the private drive
on Che Park Street right-of-way. The City Administrator noted that this is
not an improved right-of-way from the City's standpoint. The City
Administrator stated that he would have the City Engineer determine the
exact location of the Park StreeC righC-of-way.
Blesener suggested Chat CiCy staff contact the School DistricC to determine
what they want Co accomplish in the vacation of this right-of-way.
Graczyk stated that aC a minimum he would like to see the Park Street
right-of-way maintained from the former Transit Street north to Demont
Street. He noted that the mobile home park owns both sides of the street
in this location. He first preference, however, is to retain the full Park
Street right-of-way from County Road B-2 to Demont Street.
Graczyk pointed out that a lot of parking occurs on the Park Street right-
of-way during sporting events held on the adjacent ballfields. Graczyk
was concerned that vacating all or a portion of that right-of--way would
push parking info the mobile home park causing a hardship for his
residents.
Blesener suggested ChaC the matter be tabled until the School District can
be contacted for more information on this issue. Blesener also suggested
that the City Engineer determine the exacC location of the Park Street
right-of-way.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2005-9-207 -TABLING ACTION ON THE
PROPOSED VACATION OF PARK STREET FROM COUNTY ROAD
B TO DEMONT STREET UNTIL THE OCTOBER I2, 2005 COUNCIL
MEETING PENDNG ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
