MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 12, 2005
GERVAIS The Council reviewed the City Engineer's report relative Co the Gervais
HILLS Hills grading plan revisions. The Engineer felt that the changed proposed
GRADING were improvements to the plan, and recommended approval subject to the
PLAN review and approval by the Watershed as well as subject to his approval.
Keis asked if additional trees will be lost as a result of the grading plan
changes. The City Administrator reported that he did not believe
additional trees were impacted, but would verify this with the City
Engineer.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2005-IO-242 -APPROVING THE CHANGES TO
THE GERVAIS HILLS GRADING PLAN SUBJECT TO APPROVAL
OP THE CITY ENGINEER AND THE RAMSEY-WASHINGTON
METRO WATERSHED DISTRICT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Given the eventual problems
with matching shingle color and the fact that there is only a $2,500
additional cost in doing the entire roof, it is staff's recommendation that
the entire roof be replaced at this time. The City Administrator reviewed
and updated the proposals from the two contractors who submitted bids.
Keis noted that staff is looking at some window replacement for the City
Center building. He asked if there was a way to bundle the scope of work
together to realize additional cost savings. Blesener did noC feel there was
enough work that would result in any economies of scale savings.
Council asked how the bidders were solicited. The City Administrator
noted that requests for proposals were sent to several contractors with two
