Resolution declared adopted.
AMENDMENT Mayor Blesener opened the Public Hearing to consider the request for
TO PUD an Amendment to PUD Agreement allowing for the expansion of an
PERMIT - existing metal building using similar materials to provide for new office
3225 COUNTRY and restrooms as well as increase warehouse space at the Drywall
DRIVE - Supply property located at 3225 Country Drive. It was noted that the
DRYWALL Planning Commission recommended approval subject to compliance with
SUPPLY recommendations of the City Planner outlined in his report dated June 6,
2008, the City Engineer outlined in his report dated June 4, 2008, subject
to the lower band of the building materials being brick veneer, and subject
to Carl Johnson working with the City Engineer on the curbing issue.
The City Planner described the proposed project, noting that Carl Johnson,
Drywall Supply, is proposing the addition of office and restroom space as
well as additional warehouse space. The Planner pointed out that the
building is metal-sided, however, the office space addition, which would
be visible from the street, will consist of upgraded building materials. The Planner noted that Mr. Johnson
expressed some concern at the Planning Commission meeting relative to
curbing adjacent to the building. Johnson felt that given the existing
elevations, this curbing would cause drainage problems. The Commission
was open to Mr. Johnson working with the City Engineer to address this
issue.
Carl Johnson reported that he is agreeable to a brick veneer for the lower
band on the exterior of the office area as well as a vertical James Hardy
cement board on the second and third bands. Johnson noted that he is
proposing a gable shake cement board on the peak portion of the building.
Blesener asked about the plan to add the office space now and the
warehouse space later. Johnson indicated that he has an immediate need
