MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 22, 2015 <br />workers for ballot initiatives also be exempted from registering under the <br />Solicitor's Ordinance. <br />McGraw indicated that he understands that the City cannot stop candidates <br />from having access to multiple -family dwelling complexes while <br />campaigning He wanted it clear that campaign workers must be in the <br />company of the candidate, staying with the candidate at all times, when <br />campaigning in these complexes. McGraw noted the difficulty that these <br />complexes have in preventing people from wandering throughout the <br />buildings. <br />Torkelson again noted that the issue of access by candidates and campaign <br />workers is out of the City's control and regulated by State Statute. <br />Torkelson requested that the Solicitor's Ordinance be further amended to <br />exempt campaign workers for ballot initiatives to also be exempted from <br />registering under the Solicitor's Ordinance. <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2015-7-149 — AMENDING THE SOLICITOR'S <br />ORDINANCE AS OUTLINED IN THE CITY INTERN'S REPORT <br />DATED JULY 8, 2015 ALSO INCLUDING AN EXEMPTION FROM <br />REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS FOR CAMPAIGN WORKERS <br />FOR CANDIDATES AND FOR BALLOT INITIATIVES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CALL FOR The City Administrator recommended that with the upcoming staff <br />STAFF changes, a workshop be called for Wednesday, August 12th, at 6:00 p.m. <br />TRANSITION to discuss a number of options and scenarios. The Administrator pointed <br />PLANNING out that transition planning was a subject at the City's strategic planning <br />WORKSHOP session held earlier this year. The Administrator indicated that this <br />workshop will be focused on the City Clerk's position as well as some <br />other administrative positions. He anticipated a second workshop before <br />the August 26th meeting to discuss the parks and recreation area. <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2015-7-150 — CALLING A TRANSITION <br />PLANNING WORKSHOP FOR AUGUST 12, 2015 AT 6:00 P.M. <br />13 <br />
