MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 26, 2015 <br />APPOINTMENT <br />TO PARKS & <br />RECREATION <br />COMMISSION <br />CITY CENTER <br />CHANGE <br />ORDER <br />CALL CLOSED <br />SESSION — <br />OFFERS TO <br />PURCHASE <br />3100 COUNTRY <br />DRIVE <br />Keis reported that the City has received four applications for the <br />current vacancy on the Parks & Recreation Commission. These applicants <br />were interviewed by Mayor Keis, Council Member McGraw, the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission Chair, and the Parks & Recreation Director. Keis <br />noted that all four applicants were well qualified and would do a fine job <br />for the City. Keis indicated that the recommendation of the interview <br />committee was to appoint Ron Horwath to the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission. <br />By ballot of the Council, Ron Horwath was unanimously appointed to the <br />Parks & Recreation Commission for a term extending through December <br />of 2016. <br />Keis noted that there will be two vacancies on the Commission beginning <br />in January of 2016, and recommended that those applicants that were not <br />appointed, reapply later this fall. <br />The City Administrator presented the Council with a change order for <br />additional lighting for the media display area in the front lobby. The cost <br />of that work is $1,501.55. <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2015-8-173 — APPROVING THE CHANGE <br />ORDER FOR ADDITIONAL MEDIA CENTER LIGHTING IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $1,501.55 AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fischer. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator reported that as directed by the Council, staff <br />distributed property information packets to those people who expressed <br />interest in purchasing the former Public Works building at 3100 Country <br />Drive. Three offers to purchase were received, and the Administrator <br />recommended that a closed session be called to consider the offers. The <br />Administrator noted that the City can close a meeting to consider offers <br />for the sale of real property pursuant to MN Statutes 13D.05, Subdivision <br />3.c (3). <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />14 <br />
