MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 28, 2004 <br />TWIN LAKE <br />ROAD Question #1 asked whether property owners favored the reconstruction of <br />AREA Twin Lake Road and Twin Lake Trail. <br />14 were in favor; <br />7 were opposed; <br />1 did not answer question. <br />Question #2 asked whether property owners agreed that water main should <br />be installed in the Twin Lake area before street reconstruction occurs. <br />22 agreed; <br />4 did not agree. <br />Question #3 asked which source of water was preferred if the Vadnais <br />Heights water main was not looped at this time. <br />8 -Vadnais Heights <br />13 -Little Canada <br />5 -No Water <br />Question #4 asked which source of water was preferred if the Vadnais <br />Heights water main was looped. <br />12 -Vadnais Heights <br />11 -Little Canada <br />3 - No Answer <br />Fahey asked how many dead end water mains existed in the City. The <br />City Administrator did not have the exact number, but indicated that there <br />ate a few. He noted that a dead end line requires more frequent flushing. <br />The Administrator pointed out that at the last neighborhood meeting on <br />the potential of a water main improvement in the Twin Lake area, the <br />biggest concern was with the quality of Vadnais Heights' water. Vadnais <br />Heights has addressed this problem by taking one of their wells out of <br />service. <br />Blesener suggested that perhaps the City should consider extending Little <br />Canada water main to the Twin Lake area as part of the Unweave the <br />Weave project. Blesener suggested that if connecting to Vadnais Heights <br />water is a more immediate solution, the potential would be there for <br />conversion to Little Canada water. <br />The City Administrator indicated that coordinating the installation of <br />Little Canada water main with the Unweave the Weave project was no <br />guarantee that a cost savings would results.
