rtJ- o
1
 anada
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600
(651) 766-4029 / FAX: (651) 766-4048
www.ci.little-canada.nut.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Keis & Members of City Council
FROM: Bill Dircks, Public Works Director
DATE: November 4, 2015
RE: 308 Savage Lane Fill Permit
MAYOR
John Keis
COUNCIL
Rick Montour
Michael McGraw
Tom Fischer
Christian Torkelson
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R, Hanson
Mr. Sam Roberto, 308 Savage Lane, applied for a fill permit in September and estimated
he would be needing 80 yards of fill to extend his usable yard on the south and east sides
of his house. Staff approved the permit subject to the conditions included in the letter
sent to Mr. Roberto and included with this memo.
Mr. Roberto completed the tree removal in the areas where the fill will be placed and
realized that he needed additional fill to finish his project. He has requested bringing in
330 yards of fill rather than 80 yards. Since it is now over 100 yards the City Council
must approve the permit.
The City Engineer and I went out to the site and looked at it and everything appears to be
in accordance with the conditions of the original permit and the additional fill should not
change the flow of storm water or encroach on the wetland. Therefore, staff recommends
approving the amended fill permit for 308 Savage Lane subject to the same conditions of
the original permit.
