MINUT>;S
CITY COUNCII,
OCTOB>;I2 27, 2004
Fahey felt that at some point the City needs to land on a garage size
maximum that is fair and reasonable for a normal lot size. Fahey pointed
out that the Council does not make CUP decisions based on whether the
neighbors do not object. Ile noted that neighbors change and in some
cases would rather not voice objections. Fahey again suggested that au
option would be to table action on the matter for 30 days to give more
time to study the issue of an ordinance amendment.
Allan indicated that she felt the ordinance was fine the way it is. She
indicated that her garage is 900 square feet and has adequate storage
capacity for 5 vehicles as well as lawn and other equipment. Allan felt the
1,000 square feet maximum was a fair size.
Pugleasa indicated that he wants to get the garage up before winter.
Rather than table action on the matter, he would comply with the 1,000
square foot maximum.
There was no one else from the general public present wishing to
comment on this matter.
Upon motion by Blesener, seconded by Montour, the public hearing was
closed.
Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
Il EbY)I, UTION NO. 2004-1 (I-256 -DENTING THE CONDITIONAL.
CIS'E PERMIT I^'OR OVERSIZED GARAGE REQUESTED ]3Y.lAMES
AND TAMMI'PUG].EASA, 27277.AKESHOREAVENUE, BASED
ON TI3E FACT THAT THE GARAGE SI7.E PROPOSED 7S OUT OF
CFIARACTER W/TH THE NEIGI713ORIIOOD
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by L,aValle_
Ayes (5) Allan, LaValle, Fahey, Montour, Blesener.
Nays (0).
