MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 22, 2003
flower/garden mart. It was noted that both the City Planner and the
Planning Commission have requested approval of the CUP amendment. It
was further noted that the Planning Commission has recommended that
any future relocations of the garden/flower mart within the shopping
center property should be handled on an administrative basis by City staff.
Blesener pointed out that the two location options proposed by Linder's
may conflict with the proposed location of reconstructed of Market Place
Drive. A representative of Linden's indicated that they are flexible as to
location and would set up their store so as to not interfere with that road
reconstruction. The representative asked for a copy of the road location
plan so that they could establish the store in the appropriate location.
Montour asked about visibility for the garden/flower mart from Rice
Street. The Linden's representative indicated that visibility was not an
issue for them, and they were confident that their customer base would
find them without the need for signage on Rice Street. He noted that the
only signage they are planning would be the signage on the building
structure itself.
There was no one present wishing to comment on this matter.
Upon motion by Fahey, seconded by LaValle, the public hearing was
closed.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOI, UTION NO. 2003-1-19 -APPROVING THE AMENDMENT
TO THE CONDITIONAL. USE PERMIT FOR RELOCATION OF
Fl OWER/GARDEN MART FOR I,INDER'S GREENHOUSE AT THE
MARKET PLACE SHOPPING CENTER, SUB.IECT TO
COMPLIANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY
PLANNER AND THE PLANNING COMMISSION INCL UDING THE
ABII ITY OF CITY STAFF TO GRANT ADMINISTRATIVE
APPROVAL. FOR ANY FUTURE RELOCATIONS, AND SUB.IECT
TO THE LOCATION OF THE MART BEING ACCEPTABLE TO
CITY STAFF SO AS TO BE OUT OF THE WAY OF THE
RECONSTRUCTION OF MARKET PLACE DRIVE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Anderson.
Ayes (5) Blesener, Anderson, Fahey, LaValle, Montour.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
