MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 27, 2003 <br />The City Administrator pointed out that speed bumps are not practical as <br />snowplows will tear them up. He also noted that the City would have to <br />request the County to request the MN Department of Transportation to do <br />a speed study on Park Street before the speed limit could be lowered. Past <br />experience has been that the County recommends the speed limit either <br />remains the same or should be increased. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI. UTION NO. 2003-8-195 -DIRECTING THE PURL IC WORKS <br />DIRECTOR TO POST THE EAST SIDE OF PARK STREET AS NO <br />PARKING FROM DEMONT AVENUE TO THE NORTH END OF <br />THE EDGEWATER TOWNOFFICES AND 2560 PARK STREET <br />PROPERTIES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (4) Fahey, Blesener, Anderson, Montour. <br />Nays (I) LaValle. Resolution declared adopted. <br />RAMSEY The City Administrator reported that he attended a meeting yesterday <br />COUNTY on the issue of maintaining a Ramsey County suburban court. It appears <br />SUBURBAN there is support from the County Board to maintain a suburban court <br />COURT location, and various options are being explored. The issue arose because <br />of budget concerns, and the need to cut $350,000 from the courts budget. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RE.40LUTION NO. 2003-8-196 -OPPOSING THE CI OSURE OF <br />ANYSUI3UR73AN COURTHOUSE AND REQUESTING RAMSEY <br />COUNTYDISTRICT COURT TO SHARE INFORMATION AND <br />COOPERATIVEI, Y EXAMINE POSSI73LE SOI UTIONS FOR STATE <br />FUNDING, CUTS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Fahey, Montour, LaValle, Anderson. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />JACKSON The City Engineer reported that he has received one quote for the path <br />STREET AND work on Jackson Street and Desoto Street. He anticipates that he will <br />DESOTO have two additional quotes within the next day or two. The Engineer <br />STREET reported that it appears that the colored concrete option will be twice <br />22 <br />
