MINUTES CITY COUNCIL NOVEMBER 12, 2003 Altendorfer reported that the County is working towards the acquisition of an 800 mhz system and is seeking both State and Federal funding for this upgrade. Improvements have also been made to the Sheriff's Department's records management system by increasing the automation of records. Altendorfer reported that the discussion of the suburban court system continues. He noted that while the County is responsible for the physical plant, the State funds staffing levels. The judicial branch is currently reviewing its stalling needs. Anderson asked if the Sheriff s Department has done any data gathering on radial profiling. Altendorfer reported that the department is participate in the State's study last year, but does not have an on-going data collection system. Anderson requested the results of the Sheriff's Department's f ndings. Montour expressed concern that the emphasis on crime prevention has fallen off and indicated that it may be because of the changes in personnel in the Crime Prevention Officer position. Altendorfer stated that he will look at this issue noting that focus recently has been on crime prevention in multi-housing complexes. LaValle thanked the Sheriff s Department for their update VOUCIERS Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOI UTION N0. 2003-11-2G0 -APPROVING THE VOUCHERS The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Anderson. DISCHARGE The City Attorney presented an ordinance amending the City's & Discharge & Concealment of Weapons ordinance to reflect current CONCEALMENT State Statute. OF WEAPONS Blesener introduced the following ordinance and moved its adoption: ORDINANCE NO. 5 i 6 -AMENDING SECTION 1203 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA, AMENDING SECTIONS 1203.020 AND 1203.060 RELATING TO THE CARRYING OF CONCEALED WEAPONS`
