Since the last Council meeting, some updated
information has been received. He stated that after the last discussion, the
budget had a gross levy increase of 3.4%. He noted that those discussions
were not considering the transfer of expenditures from the Water Fund
(601) and Sewer Fund (602) to the General Fund associated with the
creation of the internal Planner/Code Enforcement position. City
Administrator stated that person's position is now paid with some sewer
and water funds. He stated that if the internal planner position is created
and she continues with code enforcement duties, then those costs should
not come from the sewer and water funds, and there is $29,600 to deal
with. If this position is not created, then this does not need to be
addressed.
City Administrator noted that he received some revised valuations from
Ramsey County that has the effect of lowering our tax rate from 30.635 to
30.608.
