MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
SEPTEMBER 12, 2002
Knudsen asked Roycraft's rational for denial of the permit. He wanted to
clarify whether it was because he was opposed to the proposal, or was it
because the Commission had a lack of information and denial would move
the issue on to the Council without a month's delay. Roycraft indicated
that his position for denial was to move the matter to the Council,
Keis felt the proper approach would be to table the matter given the lack
of information. Keis stated that he was concerned about how long the
interim use would last, how many trucks and what types of material and
equipment would be stored on the property, etc. Keis suggested, however,
that if the Commission did not like the outdoor storage use, than denial
would be the proper way to act on the application.
Roycraft again indicated that his position for denial is to move the matter
on in a shorter time period trusting that the appropriate information will
get to the Council.
Gatske noted that there is already outdoor storage on the property, and he
would support denial and moving the issue on to the Council faster in
order to get anon-conforming situation addressed in a quicker manner.
Roycraft recommended denial of the request for Interim Use Permit for
outdoor storage in a PUD District as requested by Frattalone Excavating
due to the lack of information on this request.
Motion seconded by Wojcik.
Motion carried 5 - 2. Knudsen and Duray voted against.
Knudsen felt that tabling would have been the proper way to address this
situation. He also wanted it noted in the record that he feels a shorter time
period than December 31, 2003 was preferable for this permit.
PRELIMINARY Gary Germanson, representing Drywall Supply, appeared before the
PLAT, Commission requesting approval of a Preliminary Plat for the Drywall
DEVELOPMENT Supply Addition, Development Stage PUD, and a Rezoning of proposed
STAGE PUD, Lot 3 from Business-Warehouse (B-W) to Light Industrial (I-1).
ANDREZONING - Germanson reviewed the layout of the plat, noting that the size of Lot 1
3203 COUNTRY had been increased by approximately l 50 feet to the south.
DRIVE -
DRYWALL Germanson then reviewed the City Planner's report beginning with
-6-
