MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
DECEMBER 16, 2015
could be improved. Torkelson stated that he doesn't want to put all of the
blame for this on staff and that the Council needs to give better direction
before cutting staff. He feels hopeful for next year's parks programming
and is afraid if that much fiinding is cut, there won't be enough Parks and
Ree staff to try new ideas.
Torkelson made a motion to return the 2016 budget for Parks and
Recreation Department funding to the same level as in 2015.
No second was made. Motion fails.
Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION NO. 2015-12-228 — ADOPTING THE 2016 TAX LEVY
FOR THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA AS FOLLOWS.
GROSS TAX LEVY $2,946,430
General Fund $2,654,298
Fire Equipment Fund $134,932
Infrastructure Fund $157,200
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour.
Ayes (4).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
The Administrator noted that in the City's Infrastructure Fund is a
significant amount for the sidewalk connection between Noel Drive and
Little Canada Road. He is using this amount as a place holder right now
and it will come back later for more discussion. This topic needs to go
back to the Parks & Recreation Commission for more review.
Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2015-12-229 — RATIFYING THE 2016 CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PLANAS PRESENTED BY CITY STAFF
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fischer.
Ayes (4).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
11
