MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 23, 2016 <br />PUBLIC <br />Mayor Keis opened the Public Hearing to consider a request for a <br />HEARING — <br />Conditional Use Permit for an oversize attached garage at 2945 Thunder <br />CONDITIONAL <br />Bay Court. <br />USE PERMIT FOR <br />AN OVERSIZE <br />The City Planner stated that this is the same request as the previous case <br />ATTACHED <br />and the two garages will abut each other. He explained that this request is <br />GARAGE AT 2945 <br />for a new home with a 1,362 square foot attached garage that would be a <br />THUNDER SAY <br />typical three car wide garage with the extra space in the rear. He noted <br />COURT (DAVE <br />that both of the lots requesting the Conditional Use Permits tonight greatly <br />JOHNSON) <br />exceed the minimum square footage requirements, and this lot is about <br />three-quarters of an acre in size. <br />The City Planner stated that the Planning Commission recommended <br />approval with the following conditions: <br />1. No business activities shall occur within the structure, subject to other <br />zoning permits or processing. <br />2. The curb -cut access shall be 24 feet or less in width. <br />Dave Johnson, future owner of 2945 Thunder Bay Court, stated he intends <br />to use the extra space only for personal storage. He noted that his garage <br />will have a single overhead door on the rear. Mcgraw asked if there <br />would be enough room between the driveways for snow removal since the <br />two driveways would be next to each other. The City Planner stated the <br />driveways must be setback at least five feet, so there will be at least ten <br />feet between the driveways. <br />There were no other comments on this matter. <br />Upon motion by McGraw, seconded by Montour, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2016-3-62 — APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT FOR A 1,362 SQUARE FOOT OVERSIZE ATTACHED <br />GARAGE AT 2945 THUNDER BAY COURT WITH THE <br />CONDITIONS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY PLANNER AND <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0).
