MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 14, 2016 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fischer. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ADOPT PARKS & The City Administrator stated that the Council had a joint session with the <br />RECREATION Parks & Recreation Commission, who has been working on a strategic plan <br />MISSION led by Councilmember Fischer. He explained that the Commission has <br />STATEMENT now finalized a mission statement and goals for Little Canada Parks & <br />AND GOALS Recreation. He stated the mission statement and goals are: <br />Our mission is to promote community engagement, wellness and <br />pride by providing exceptional public recreation services and <br />facilities. <br />The Parks & Recreation Goals are as follows: <br />*Excellent customer service: <br />-Making the customer feel special <br />-Going the extra mile <br />-Collaborating with others to deliver a great experience <br />*Promoting a Sense of Community Pride: <br />-"We are Little Canada" <br />*Well maintained and safe parks and facilities: <br />-Well maintained: clean, timely service, functional <br />equipment, good ice <br />-Safe: Trails are plowed and maintained, open line of sight, <br />proactive/responsive to issues <br />*Programming for all ages and abilities: <br />-Inclusive, "team" environment <br />-Activities, trips, educations opportunities to enhance <br />Quality of Life <br />-Partnering to ensure broad opportunities <br />Fischer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION 2016-9-148 -ADOPTING THE PARKS & <br />RECREATION MISSION STATEMENT AND ASSOCIATED GOALS <br />AS PRESENTED. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Torkelson. <br />Aye (5). <br />Nays (0).
