She explained that during
VACANCY the last vacancy in April, two great candidates were interviewed, but only
one was needed at the time. She stated that since there is an approved
candidate, does the Council want to advertise the opening or simply
appoint this candidate if they are still interested.
Keis stated Staff should offer the vacancy to other candidate if he is still
interested, otherwise hold the position open until the end of the year and fill
all of the Commission openings at the same time.
Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION 2016-9-151 -APPROVE THE APPOINTMENT OF
THE SECOND PLANNING COMMISSION CANDIDATE TO FILL
THE REMAINDER OF THE VACATED TERM IF THE PERSON IS
WILLING, OTHERWISE HOLD THE POSITION OPEN UNTIL THE
END OF 2016 AND FILL ALL COMMISSION OPENINGS AT THE
SAME TIME.
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour.
Aye (5).
Nays (0). He explained that two quotes were received for
the work, with JMW Lawn and Landscape having the lowest bid at
$18,984. He noted that $12,500 was budgeted for the work at City Hall,
and $15,000 for the Fire Station, so this quote is well within budget, but
recommends that there be some flexibility on costs, possibly up to $21,000.
He stated that Staff recommends the Council award JMW Lawn and
Landscape the City Hall and Fire Station landscaping project.
McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION 2016-9-152 - A WARD THE CITY HALL AND FIRE
STATION LANDSCAPING PROJECT TO JMW LAWNAND
LANDSCAPE, AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED A TOTAL OF $21, 000.
10
