<br />electronics as defined in this contract, garbage disposers, freezers, washers and dryers, water heaters,
<br />microwave ovens, trash compactors, furnaces, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers. “Appliances”
<br />includes the industry term “white goods”. Gas ammonia appliances are not included under this
<br />definition as they are considered hazardous waste.

<br />C. Bulky Items. Large household items such as, but not limited to, bathtubs, beds, mattresses, bikes,
<br />carpet and padding (less than 4 foot bundles & less than 45 pounds), chairs, couches, doors, dressers,
<br />exercise equipment, garage door openers, gas grills (without tank), lawnmowers (drained), pallets,
<br />water softeners, wheels/rims/tires, windows, construction debris (less than 4 feet in length and less
<br />than 45 pounds), and items that are too large to fit into the garbage cart or container.
<br />
<br />D. Co-collection of Organics. The co-mingled collection of yard waste and food waste. This may also
<br />include contaminated, non-recyclable paper.
<br />
<br />E. Collection Service. Collection service is the process of collection and transportation of refuse, yard
<br />waste and recyclables.
<br />
<br />Contractor. Independent contractor means person or persons authorized by the Contract to perform
<br />refuse collection services within the City.
<br />
<br />F. Day-Certain Collection. Day-Certain collection is a City-approved plan for weekly collection
<br />services by an established day-certain schedule. This schedule requires refuse, yard waste, and
<br />recyclable collection on the same day of the week and is based on a five (5) day, Monday through
<br />Friday, workweek. The only exceptions to the "day certain" plan shall be during those weeks in which
<br />occur legal holidays, the pickup of major appliances under the Bulky Item designation or inclement
<br />weather, which the Contractor is not able to safely operate its business. The Contractor will then
<br />notify the City within a timely manner of delay and include a plan for completion of collection. The
<br />City and Contractor agree that once operations resume, the Contractor will make customers impacted
<br />by the delay due to inclement weather a top priority to minimize the service interruption to the greatest
<br />extent possible. In inclement weather conditions, the Contractor is also responsible for notifying
<br />customers covered under this contract through their phone dial-out system to make them aware of the
<br />delay in service. The only exceptions to the "day-certain" plan shall be during those weeks in which
<br />occur legal holidays or the pickup of major appliances under the Bulky Item designation.
<br />
<br />G. Electronics. Computers and peripherals, televisions, video display device, printers, FAX machines,
<br />DVD players, video cassette recorders and other devices as acceptable by the Contractor and the State.
<br />Electronics does not include any device with a cathode ray tube (CRT). All definitions of electronics are
<br />as defined by State law.
<br />
<br />H. Food Waste. Garbage, as defined below, kitchen scraps, and garden waste as would be deemed
<br />acceptable by Ramsey County and their compost collection points.
<br />
<br />I. Garbage. Waste material, animal, or vegetable that results from the handling, preparation, cooking,
<br />service, and consumption of food.
<br />
<br />J. Multi-family Dwelling. Residential premises with greater than two living units and which have
<br />centralize solid waste and recyclable materials collection service for all units in the building and
<br />which are billed as one address.
<br />
<br />K. Organics. Plant materials co-mingled with food waste and contaminated, non-recyclable paper.
<br />
<br />L. Prohibited Mailings. Notices sent to residential dwelling units within the City of Little Canada
