mINUT~s
CITY COUNCIL
Fh,BRUARY l3, 2002
will contact the City's legislators to inform them of the City's opposition to
these cuts, including the TIF Grant program.
B-W Scalze pointed out the fact that the City has a development moratorium on the
MORATORIUM B-W Zoning Districts. She questioned why there is a proposal on the Planning
Commission agenda for the Knox site when the moratorium was still in place.
"fhe City Administrator indicated that this proposal was placed on the agenda
given that the applicant is contending there are poor soils on this property and,
therefore, the elimination of the outdoor storage use from the B-W District
would severely impact the usability of the Knox site. It was to be included as
part of the discussion of the revised zoning criteria for this area.
Scalze felt it was inappropriate to consider any development proposal within a
13-W Disu~ict while the moratorium is in place.
Council discussed this issue and agreed that the proposal for the Knox site was
out of order at this point in the process. The City Administrator indicated that
he would contact that applicant, explain the situation and have the matter
removed from the Planning Commission agenda.
Mr. Falrey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption
RES`OI_UTION NO. 2002-2-2?- DECLARING THAT THE
DE VF.LOPMENT APP( (CATION SUBMI/'TED BY CARL ./OHN.SON
WAS SCHEDULED FOR CONSIDERATION IN ERROR I3ASEU ON THE
Ea7.STING MORATORIUM ON THE PROPERTY AND DECLARING
THAT THE APP(./CATION FEE BE REFUNDED TO MR../OHNSON
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Anderson, Montow, La Valle.
Nays (0).
