NAC will work with the City Public Works Department
and City Engineer to gather this information for inventory presentation to the
Metropolitan Council.

G. Parks and Open Space. This inventory item would identify the City’s existing parks,
trails, and sidewalk system. This would include:

• Maps of Existing Park System
• Map of Regional Park and Trails That May Impact Little Canada

NAC will formulate this section of the inventory. The information will be gathered and
presented consistent with the Metropolitan Council requirements. As the City may
pursue a separate Parks Plan effort, it is expected that the results of that project would be
incorporated into the 2040 Comprehensive Plan as needed and available.

Task III – Issue Identification

In addition to the empirical data collected through the inventory, it is necessary to identify
community issues as perceived by the City Council, Advisory Committees, City staff and
residents. This is necessary to focus the scope of the comprehensive planning work to the
priorities unique to the City. In our meeting, some of the issues that will require attention in the
Comprehensive Plan Update may include:

• Identification and examination of target sites for redevelopment
• Infill development of residential areas.
• Examination of each planning area.
