For those making use of the new access, what would you use West Savage Lake for?
Total – All Surveys----------------------- 23 Answered; 60 Skipped
Of Those Answered:
Canoe ------------ 14
Kayak ------------ 17
Snowmobiling --- 1
Rowboat ---------- 3
Boat w/Motor ---- 1
Paddle Board ---- 4
Snow Shoeing ---- 7
X-Country Ski --- 4
One respondent also included “Other” indicating “exploring shoreline” & “viewing wildlife”.

In your opinion, is it acceptable for users of this access to use on-street parking on the south side
of Lake Street adjacent to Nadeau Park?
Total – All Surveys----------------------- 78 Answered; 5 Skipped
YES ---- 40 (51.3%) No ----- 38 (48.7)

Would you be interested in attending a public information meeting to further discuss this
potential project?
Total – All Surveys----------------------- 81 Answered; 2 Skipped
YES ---- 36 (44.4%) No ----- 45 (55.6)

Here are the written comments that were received:

I own the property at 2660 Lake Shore Ave which the current public access transects. It's rarely used,
almost exclusively in winter by snowmobilers. I am not at all opposed to having public access through
my yard, provided it remains accessible when I am using a wheelchair or have visitors who use
wheelchairs. However - there is zero on street or nearby parking. The corner at Lake Shore and Old C
is hazardous for pedestrian traffic as people speed around it. There is no sidewalk or safe walking path,
and it is a very busy street. It is typical at least once a week to hear cars hit the curb or barrier in the
night. Whether the path is through my yard or in another area, please pay attention to accessibility.
Here are some references about low-cost, long-lasting options to woodchips that increase rather than
decrease accessibility to people with difficulty walking, and/or using mobility devices. As a side note,
these options also make portaging easier if the goal is lake access.
http://www.americantrails.org/photoGalleries/cool/3- ADA-Accessible-Trail-Surface.html
http://atfiles.org/files/pdf/TrailSurface.pdf I am wholly in favor of public access continuing to the lake. I
would love a nature trail, and it makes much more sense to have it connect to the park with parking
available and safer street access. I am in favor of paying slightly more for a surface that will be
accessible to the aging population of Little Canada.

Due to the infestation of invasive water lilies and other water weeds, we find it very difficult to navigate
"West Savage Lake" by kayak or row boat during the months of May, June, July, August, & September.
Now that the two volunteers who have previously sprayed the water lilies have sold their houses and
