would likely have to use part of our driveway which we do not support. 4. Use the money for something
that would benefit the lake instead, like perhaps raingardens to address and treat stormwater runoff that
has contributed to the demise of the lake. A raingarden (or two) along the edge of Nadeau Park would
be a much better use of city funds, certainly better than off-street parking as suggested by the survey. In
summary, we do not support the proposal to use the Lake Street r-o-w to develop an access to the west
side of Savage Lake. We are also a bit surprised and disappointed that the Parks and Rec Committee
has not reached out to us as impacted landowners to seek our opinion on this prior to conducting this
pubic survey. Why is it OK to want to invite Rocky Waite to your meetings to discuss this further and not
us - puzzled and disappointed?

Although before our time on the so called lake, it is our understanding that people fished out of Savage
Lake and it was a much cleaner lake, it has been neglected for many years. I certainly wouldn't call it a
"lake" in fact people call it a pond where it receives run off. The money should be used towards cleaning
up this body of water and possibly stocking it again with fish. Considering we have enough freeway
noise even with the sound wall, I certainly would not welcome noise coming from motorized boats when
I'm out in my backyard. The last I checked snowmobiles were not allowed on City streets so I'm not quite
sure how those that wanted to drive in circles on the pond would get their snowmobiles to it without
driving on City streets? The City only calls it West Savage Lake so it can continue to increase our
property taxes because it's on a body of water.

But I would very much like to hear more information. I could make an argument for both sides and go
back and forth with my thoughts.

I rather get speed bumps installed along Old County Rd C E between Lakeshore and Demont, but public
access to a lake bordering I35E would be nice too.

It seems this area is best because of proximity to the pond / lake. The Old County C access would
require a longer access and parking would be trickier.

A wonderful idea to share the joy of the area.

1) Why were lake shore property owners not contacted about this before going public? Do those paying
a property tax water view premium not matter? Why are you seriously proposing to invite the world into
our back yards? The property lines of some extend 1/3 to 1/2 of the way from the shore to the island, and
are thus not supposed to be public anyway. 2) You would have who knows who wandering past
bedrooms, forcing residents to perhaps put up fences and no trespassing signs to keep the public off
their property. 3) When we bought our home, one of the attractions for private people like us was the
privacy, and the lack of activity on the water (other than the wildlife), and on the streets immediately
around our home. Parking on the street, or worse yet, putting a parking lot, in a separate park area,
next to a home, is not acceptable 4) I think wildlife too, prefer it to be quiet. Are there not enough
recreational lakes in the area with public access? Must every body of water, even those with zero
parkland become a playground for the general public, to the detriment of the wildlife, and the property
owners? What about Round Lake, with its more and more extensive parkland along LC Road? 5) Savage
is not a navigable lake. Has anyone contacted the DNR about this "plan?" 6) The people who wrote the
survey (boats with motors - really?) must never have been on West Savage. It is mostly quite shallow (1
foot in most of it) and will not accommodate motors, or even canoes for 4-5 months of the summer due
