MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 24, 2017 <br />ORDINANCE The City Cleric explained that the Legislature has approved Sunday off - <br />814, AMENDING sale liquor sales to begin on July 1, 2017, and cities that specifically <br />THE CITY <br />prohibit Sunday sales in their City Code, must change the language to <br />CODE TO <br />comply with State Statute. She noted that cities cannot prohibit liquor <br />ALLOW FOR <br />sales on days that state law allow it, but they can be more limiting on the <br />SUNDAY OFF- <br />hours of sales. She stated Ordinance 814 was prepared to amend the code <br />SALE LIQUOR <br />to allow off -sale liquor sales on Sundays, and that the hours and language <br />SALES <br />used in the ordinance is consistent with state statute. The City Cleric stated <br />that deliveries are also prohibited on Sundays, and that language has also <br />been included in the ordinance. <br />Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2017-5-91— ADOPTING ORDINANCE 814, <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 703 OF THE CITY CODE TO ALLOW OFF - <br />SALE LIQUOR SALES ON SUNDAYS BETWEEN 11: 00AMAND <br />6:OOPM, AND PROHIBITING DELIVERIES OFALCOHOL ON <br />SUNDAYS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City Administrator stated that Staff is finishing their follow-up with <br />ABOUT PARKS <br />three of the consulting firms, and is recommending that the Council <br />MASTER PLAN <br />meeting be continued to Friday, May 27 in order to complete the <br />CONSULTANT <br />discussion about a consultant for the Parks Master Plan. There was <br />Council consensus to meet again at 1:OOpm on Friday, May 27, 2017. <br />Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2017-5-92 —CONTINUING THE CITY CO UNCIL <br />MEETING AT 1:0OPM ON FRIDAY, MAY 26, 2017 TO COMPLETE <br />THE DISCUSSIONREGARDING CHOOSINGA CONSULTANT <br />FOR THE PARKS MASTER PLAN <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator noted that the Friday City Council meeting will <br />not be televised due to not having production staff available, and the <br />notice requirements have been met since the City Council members were <br />made aware of the meeting tonight. <br />
