f) Intergenerational Connections – Roseville Schools has a couple of opportunities along
this line that are promoting. One involves reading to elementary students as part of the
school curriculum. Another is one-on-one mentoring of middle school/high school
students to provide support and guidance to our youth. Another option might be
Northeast Youth & Family Services. They have their Senior Chore program where youth
are engaged to help seniors with yard and house work that they cannot do on their own.
Other ideas in this area are welcomed.

g) Website Link for Local Resources to help Seniors in the Community – This seems
pretty straight forward. It is just a matter of researching/compiling those resources and
then presenting them on the website. We can also promote through the newsletter,
Channel 16, and social media.

h) Promote the Little Canada Business Registry – Again, this is pretty straight forward.
The challenge is identifying all the business and then keeping up with changes. We will
need to develop a process to do this.

i) Ensure Public Input on County Road Improvement Projects – When reconstruction
projects or more major undertakings occur, we are usually involved due to cost sharing
and levying of assessments. This gives us the opportunity to get abutting property
owners involved in the process; including plan review. A more challenging aspect is
when the County undertakes maintenance projects such as mill & overlays. Because
there typically isn’t cost sharing involved, the County doesn’t always provide us with a
lot of notice on the work to be undertaken. We can ask the County to have an
informational meeting on the proposed work, but the City is not in a strong position to
ensure concerns are addressed given it is the County’s project. I have contacted County
staff to see what they may be willing to do.
