4SHORT ELLIOTT HENDRICKSON INC. 1.5 – Review of Pertinent Plans and Studies Existing documents, plans and reports will be reviewed and summarized for use by the team during the planning process including: X Parks and Recreation Vision Statement X 2008 Parks Master Plan X Trail/Sidewalk Plan X Parks Connectivity X Community Redevelopment Area Master Plan X Pioneer Park Design X Ramsey County Parks and Recreation Master Plan X Metropolitan Council Parks and Trails Plans X Trout Brook Regional Trail Information as Prepared by Ramsey County X City of Little Canada Budget relating to Parks and Recreation TASK 2 – PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT Community engagement efforts will build upon the current outreach generated by the City through its Comprehensive Planning process as well as other on-going recreational adult and youth recreational programs. This will include working with the Parks and Recreation Commission, the Little Canada Recreation Association and City staff representing relevant departments, as well as efforts to reach out to users typically underrepresented (youth, cultural groups, seniors, etc.). Our approach includes meeting people where they are, such as at the parks or at a senior’s housing development along with online opportunities where residents can provide input and stay informed from the comfort of their own home computer or while using a nearby branch of the Ramsey County Library. The master Plan will provide recommendations for improving the sustainability of maintenance and operations practices. TASK 2 DELIVERABLES • Summaries of public outreach and engagement activities • Project web page • Interim displays and/or hand-outs for pop up sessions • Online survey questionnaire, draft and final posting • Graphic announcement for announcing public meetings
