5 CITY OF LITTLE CANADA | PARKS MASTER PLAN
Specifically, we propose:
X A project web page hosted on the SEH website with links from the
City’s website.
X Up to five (5) meetings with the Park and Recreation Commission
(typically every other month) to review interim work products
including refinement of the vision.
X Two (2) Pop-up in-field input sessions with Little Canada residents in
their activity settings such as fishing pier, soccer fields or trail head or
during a community event such as Canadian Days.
X Routine postings of interim deliverables to a project web page (hosted
by SEH or City) that allows visitors to send comments to the project
team.
X Up to four (4) parks and trails community listening sessions (focus
groups) with emphasis on engaging youth, community elders and
youth and adult sports organizations to be organized with assistance
of the City.
X Facilitate a community open house session to display and solicit input
on draft Park System Master Plan recommendations. This will also
include a simultaneous online “virtual” open house survey.
X An online, user needs and issues survey (including questions
pertaining to Pioneer Park) with a mapping tool.
X Development of compatible FAQ’s, announcements and images for
posting on the City’s Facebook page and or in the “Le Petit Canadien”
newsletter.
Key points to be determined during the plan
development process:
1. Goals, issues and opportunities
2. Inventory and analysis of existing
conditions, service levels and park types
3. Identification and prioritization of future
enhancements/expansions
4. Develop draft policies, procedures and
implementation strategies
5. Prepare final Park System Master Plan
