MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 11, 2017 <br />including classes. She thanked the City for being a great partner with <br />Ramsey County. <br />Fischer stated that the election process in 2017 was burdensome for cities <br />with the addition of early voting, and smaller cities in particular struggled <br />with dealing with the amount of people that came to the city halls for early <br />voting. Ms. McGuire stated that the County is considering having <br />additional early voting sites available to help ease the burden on cities next <br />year, and the County Elections Manager is looking at additional ways to <br />improve the process. The City Clerk stated that many of the processes are <br />controlled by the Legislature. <br />Torkelson stated that he heard from Carla Lane residents who live on Lake <br />Gervais, and are concerned about funding that the County received from <br />the State and passed to the watershed districts for invasive species control. <br />Commissioner McGuire stated that she has heard from the residents too, <br />and unfortunately there was not enough money to deal with the Eurasian <br />Milfoil problems. <br />CONSENT Fischer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />AGENDA <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2017-10-183 —APPROVING THE CONSENT <br />AGENDA WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING: <br />*APPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS, <br />*APPROVE RESOLUTION 2017-10-184 DESIGNATING LITTLE <br />CANADA POLLING PLACE LOCATIONS FOR 2018 ELECTION; <br />*APPROVE ANINTOXICATING LIQUOR LICENSE FOR TNT <br />BILLIARD PRODUCTS & POOL HALL <br />*APPROVE PARTIAL PAYMENT #S TO T.A. SCHIFSKY & SONS <br />FOR 2017 STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS <br />*APPROVE RESIDENT REIMS URSEMENTS FROM 2017 STREET <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />RESCHEDULE The City Clerk explained that the Council typically reschedules the <br />NOVEMBER November City Council meetings since one falls during Thanksgiving <br />CITY COUNCIL week, which is the case this year. There was Council consensus to keep <br />MEETINGS the November 8 meeting as scheduled, and reschedule the November 22 <br />meeting to Monday, November 20, 2017. <br />3 <br />
