MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 8, 2017 <br />scope. The City Administrator explained that this summer, the Council <br />authorized Mr. Berres to re -roof the structure to protect its integrity, and <br />he has now approached the City regarding his ability to complete <br />renovations to the structure. He stated that the Building Official has <br />indicated which improvements will need building permits, and also is <br />requiring improvements to the decks. He reported that staff recommends <br />allowing Mr. Berres to complete the work pursuant to code requirements. <br />Once completed, Mr. Berres would be eligible to obtain a rental license <br />and lease out the other unit subject to City Code Chapter 3200. <br />McGraw stated that he is concerned that this will not end up working out <br />again, and hopes the owner will complete the work this time. <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2017-11-210 APPROVE ACCEPTING THE <br />RENOVATIONS FOR 2 9551295 7 ARCADE STREET AS STATED IN <br />THE STAFF REPORT, ALONG WITH ANY OTHER <br />REQUIREMENTS OF THE BUILDING OFFICIAL <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CONFERENCE The City Administrator reported that Vanessa Van Alstine, the City's part - <br />EXPENSES FOR time cable TV producer, is requesting that Little Canada share travel <br />CABLE TV expenses to a conference in Baltimore with her full-time employer, City of <br />PRODUCER Mounds View. He stated that Mounds View has paid for her to attend two <br />conferences in the last couple of years, and the knowledge she gains from <br />the conferences is valuable to both cities. He noted that Ms. Van Alstine <br />won a free conference fee to the 2018 Alliance for Community Media in <br />Baltimore, and Mounds View will pay her salary while she is attending the <br />conference. He reported that she is estimating that airfare, hotel and <br />transportation will cost around $1,200. <br />McGraw asked if the City provides per diem for meals. The City <br />Administrator stated that there is a policy in place to reimburse for meals <br />during travel. <br />Fischer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIONNO. 2017-11-211 APPROVING SPLITTING THE <br />CONFERENCE EXPENSES WITH THE CITY OF MO UNDS VIE W <br />rd <br />
