The latest information indicates that Little Canada’s taxable <br />retail and service sales increased 27.7 percent between 2013 and 2016, reaching a total of $118 <br />million. <br />The largest contributors of taxable sales in Little Canada’s retail economy were furniture stores, <br />which accounted for one-third of all taxable sales. Furthermore, furniture stores contributed the <br />largest increase in taxable sales in the last few years, adding close to $20 million in sales during <br />that timeframe. Leisure goods, clothing, and vehicles and auto parts saw small decreases in <br />taxable sales from 2013 to 2016. The second largest category was dining, which accounted for 14 <br />percent of total taxable sales, followed by miscellaneous retail. When a category has less than four <br />stores reporting, its sales are included in miscellaneous category.
