MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 19, 2018 <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION 2018-12-254 — APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF <br />THE AQUATECH JETTER/VACUUM COMBINATION SEWER <br />CLEANING MACHINE FROM FLEXIBLE PIPE TOOL COMPANY <br />ATA PRICE OF $390,962.00 PL US TAX AND LICENSE FEES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Aye (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />EDUCATION The City Clerk reported that staff is proposing to increase the annual <br />REIMBURSEMENT maximum tuition reimbursement amount per employee from $3,500 per <br />POLICY year to $4,500 due to the rising cost of tuition. She noted that the <br />AMENDMENTS educational reimbursement benefit is an important incentive for employee <br />growth and retention. She explained that staff is also proposing some <br />additions to language in the policy that would require an employee to <br />reimburse the City if they leave the City's employment within two years <br />of completing a class. <br />The City Administrator clarified that the reimbursement funds must be <br />budgeted so they are not automatically approved. <br />Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2018-12-255 APPROVETHE EDUCATION <br />REIMBURSEMENT POLICY AMENDMENTS AS PRESENTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fischer. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />SET 2019 COUNCIL The City Administrator stated that staff recommends the Council set the <br />MEETINGS & 2019 meeting schedule according to the regular second and fourth <br />WORKSHOPS Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m., with the except of November and December. <br />He noted that a calendar was included in the staff report with the proposed <br />meeting dates highlighted. The City Administrator stated that staff is also <br />proposing the Council consider setting a regular monthly workshop in <br />order to help staff better plan for workshop agenda items and reduce <br />publication costs every time a workshop is called. He noted that the <br />workshop could be canceled if not needed, which is easier than adding <br />one. <br />
