MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 23, 2008 <br />Blesener asked if the new garages would match the existing house. <br />Schwietz noted that he has a flat roof on his home, and would not want to <br />match that roofline. <br />Montour pointed out the Planning Commission's recommendation that <br />that a one story garage be constructed. Schwietz estimated the cost of <br />pilings at $40,000 for the garage, and again noted that atwo-story <br />sriuctme would maximize his investment. If limited to a one-story garage, <br />he would have to weigh his decision on whether or not to proceed with the <br />project. Schwietz indicated that his intention was to keep the total garage <br />square footage at 1,500. <br />There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on <br />this matter. <br />Upon motion by Allan, seconded by McGraw, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Mr. Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIONNO.2008-7-I75 -APPROVING A CONDITIONAL <br />USE PERMIT TO ALLOW TWO GARAGES AS WELL AS TOTAL <br />GARAGE SPACE TO A MAXIMUM OFI,500 SQUARE FEET AT 620 <br />KELLER PARKWAY, DAVID SCHWIETZ PROPERTY, SUBJECT TO <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY <br />PLANNER AS OUTLINED IN HIS JULY 3, 2008 REPORT AND <br />SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS <br />OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION LIMITING THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF THE LARGER GARAGE TO A ONE-STORY <br />STRUCTURE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PROPERTY Mayor Blesener noted that Mr. Gene LaVaque has requested that action <br />DIVISION on his proposed Subdivision dividing 580 and 588 East County Road B-2 <br />into three single-family lots be tabled at this time. Mr. LaVaque has <br />indicated that there are complications with their ability to obtain a permit <br />to consriuct a driveway over the Magellan pipeline. It was noted that a <br />60-day waiver will need to be obtained from the applicants for the <br />property division. <br />
