MINUTI/S CITY COUNCIL JULY 23, 2008 building and the new CVS building. As proposed, the CVS building would be closer to the north building. CVS will have adrive-through pharmacy window on the east side of the building, and the Commission was concerned about traffic conflicts between truck deliveries and pharmacy traffic. The Planner noted that the City Engineer has looked at this issue and is recommending that the CVS building be moved three to four feet south. He is also recommending that curbing be installed defining the traffic lanes between the two buildings. Jon Lennander, Velmeir Construction Services, representing CVS, reported that they are agreeable to replacing the yellow with a beige color. Lennander showed a materials sample board which showed the beige that would be used. With regard to the County Road C access, Lennander reported that he met with the City Engineer and discussed the relocation of the County Road C access. Lennander reported that they are agreeable to moving this access to 40 feet from the eastern property line. The parking on the south side of the building will be reconfigured to accommodate that change. There will be no loss in the amount of parking spaces. Lennander indicated that he also met with the City Engineer on the circulation issue between the north building and the CVS Pharmacy building. He acknowledged that the existing buildings are further apart from what is being proposed. Lennander stated that they are agreeable to moving the CVS building four feet to the south. Parking spaces on the south side of the building will be shortened up to accommodate this change. The curbing will be added to define the drive lanes. Lennander also indicate that the drive area between the two buildings will be made one-way to reduce the potential for riaffic conflicts. He noted that semi trucks making deliveries to the north building will drive in along the north side of that building, around the back and out between the two buildings. There is adequate visibility at the point where the semi-truck ri~affic and pharmacy traffic would meet to turn between the two buildings and exit this area. Blesener asked if there was adequate room behind the north building to accommodate semi-truck deliveries. Lennander replied that there was. Lennander also reported that they will enclose the trash enclosure and the cardboard compactor enclosure. Allan asked about sidewalks. Lennander stated that they are agreeable to the installation of sidewalks as required. Blesener suggested that sidewalk location be reviewed by Ramsey County to ensure no conflicts with the future Rice Srieet redevelopment project.
