MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 24, 2001 <br />The City Administrator reported that the estimated cost of the system is <br />$5,000. Mr. Smothers is hoping that if he puts the system in place, that <br />the Council will consider some adjustment on his license fee to offset this <br />additional expenditure. The Administrator reported that this issue should <br />be discussed with the Sheriffl s Department to determine if the automated <br />system makes sense. <br />Fahey suggested that the matter be discussed in more detail in the <br />workshop that the City will be having with the Sheriffl s Department. <br />The Administrator suggested approval of the license renewal reserving the <br />issues of the automated pawn system as well as license fee adjustment. <br />There was no one present wishing to comment further on this matter. <br />Upon motion by LaValle, seconded by Scalze, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-1-21-APPROVING THE RENEWAL OF <br />PAWN BROKERS LICENSE AND SECOND HAND GOODS <br />DEALERS LICENSE FOR LINCOLN PAWN & JEWELRY SUBJECT <br />TO FURTHER FINAL. RESOI. UTION OF THE ISSUE OF THE <br />AUTOMATED PAWNSYSTEMAND RELATED REQUEST FOR <br />LICENSE FEE AD.1 USTMENT <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br /> Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Fahey, Montour, Anderson. <br /> Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CUP -CAR Mayor Fahey opened the public hearing to consider the request for a <br />RENTAL Conditional Use Permit to operate a car rental facility at 2608 Rice <br />BUSINESS - Street made by Patrick O'Brien. Fahey noted that the Planning <br />2608 RICE Commission recommended approval of the Conditional Use Permit. <br />STREET - <br />PATRICK Mr. O'Brien appeared before the Council and indicated that he <br />O'BRIEN understands the recommendations of the Planning Commission and is <br /> prepared to abide by those recommendations. <br />
